I wrote these two poems because many people believe, as do I, that seeing butterflies shortly after losing a loved one is a beautiful sign that the spirit of your loved one lives on. I think that is an extremely comforting thought. It is sad to know though that each adult Monarch lives only about 4 to 5 weeks.
Bear Cubs and Teddy Bears
I wrote these two poems because I think children also like real bear cubs and teddy bears. Real bear cubs are indeed cute and curious, and I think kids enjoy seeing them in real life, movies, and storybooks. They can be quite comical.
I believe that many, many children have a teddy bear as their special friend. They can be quite comforting, especially when a child is ill, and at bedtime. I wanted to include the part about President Teddy Roosevelt in this poem because I thought this true fact is interesting, and even some adults might not know how teddy bears got their name.
