I have purchased several copies over the last few years for children of friends and relatives. The poems and pictures are adorable and entertaining. A must have for littles who are too young to read as well as those just learning.

This is a delightful collection of fun poems and amusing colorful illustrations that teach about the holidays, health and science-related topics, fire safety, and other fun facts for children. All the poems use rhyming as an ingenious way to get children to learn to read and increase their vocabulary. This would be an excellent resource for all Elementary or pre-school or day care teachers to use in their classrooms. It is appropriate for all children, toddlers to age 10 and for parents and grandparents with children in that age group.

Just received two of Butterflies,Bears,and Other Poems for Children. The poetry reminds me of the nursery rhymes from my childhood and the illustration are beautiful and for sure will keep the attention of a child. Having been Patricia's 8th grade English teacher, I could see from the start that she had the gift of writing, as well as a love for it.
